Protech Dent Mouthguard Review and Giveaway

I contacted Protech about a giveaway and it seemed like I received the items instantly...with a little research I realized they are based about 30 minutes from where I live, in Ann Arbor, MI.

I have been dreaming of these mouth guards since the first time I saw someone using one.  They could drink water, communicate in the pack and actually be understood and their mouth guard didn't look half as nasty as mine.

Some background, my mouth guard is the same one I bought that first week of derby.   That first week back in January 2010, when I skated once and was absolutely madly in love and needed all my own gear ASAP!  It has been gnawed on, dropped on dirty floors, left in my bag of stinky pads...you name something nasty, I'm sure it has happened.  At a bout last weekend someone else even noticed the pure nastiness that was my mouth guard, good thing I'm not the type to get embarrassed.

Upon opening the glorious package from Protech Dent, I was so excited but really wanted to wait for my derby pal to get home from work and share the joy and love....so I waited impatiently and we finally got our new mouth guards all fit to our teeth.  It is super easy, you just heat it up and mold it to your teeth, wait a minute and you are ready to roll.

I chose the white mouth guard, thinking it would look cool to smile and look like they are just my teeth...which I still think, but it just made me realize my teeth are looking a bit yellow...oops!

First thing I did when I put my newly fitted mouth guard in, OK OK after I looked in the mirror, was I spoke to my roommate.....and I was easily understood!  2nd mouth guard test, chugging water with it in, something I never even attempted with my other mouth guard, I think its that whole drowning thing that turned me off.  SUCCESS!!!!
Ok, enough of my gushing about my new mouth guard, lets get to the fun...the giveaway!

*For your first original entry, since I am in the market for new pads, suggest your favorite knee pads to me (keep in mind i am 200+ pounds of pure sexy!)

I'm pretty sure you said they were what you already used, but I love my 187s. My husband said his mom might buy me new pads for Christmas, and I said there's no way she would wind up with anything better than those :)

I already follow your blog. I wear 187 Killer Pro knee pads and 187 gaskets under those. I'm 165 pounds and have bad knees, so I replaced my first pair after a little less than a year, but I'm loving them.

Already following you on Facebook (how'dya think i found this?) and about to add you on twitter... but once i went from TSGs to Scabs, i was a whole new skater. it took a bit of altering my crossovers (they're bulky, but it's so good on the knees), but no more sore knees and no more bruises!

I bought a pair of Pro-Tecs off ebay and they've served me well, but now (a year later) they're definitely showing the wear of doing lunges and falls on crappy concrete and the stretchy part around the back is seperating. Also, for my next pair I'm going to try to find some that I can still put on if I forget and put my skates on before pads. :-/

I'm a 200+ lady myself, and I recently purchased the 187 Fly knee pads and I absolutely LOVE them.

Its about the gaskets to me. With good gaskets/braces, any version of the 187s work, and probably many others. But my old 187s with gaskets are far better than new ones without.

I follow you on Facebook (KL Mi) & Twitter (MitchinInAction), I follow this blog, and I tweeted the message.

I have TSG Force 3's, and like them. But they are also the only ones I've ever tried.

I've been following you on Facebook forever, didn't even know you had a twitter so that's rad too.
For kneepads, it really depends on the shape of your knee, but my picks would be TSG Force III or Destroyer Pro.

I'm really bad at twitter...I don't tweet very much but I'm following you now.
I have the 187s Killer Pro and I swear by these. I haven't found a knee pad that fit so well and snug. I also started wearing the 187s knee gaskets and the combination of both is AMAZING!!! So yeah 187s Killer Pro is my def top choice :)

Scabs for sure. I don't even feel my falls anymore. Some of my larger friends also say the 187's are still their favorite.
I follow you on facebook, google and twitter.

I am pretty heavy too and I use 187s with TSG gaskets underneath. Scabs are pretty popular on my league too!

I'm about 185 and I like my 187s, with TSG gaskets underneath. Other ladies on my league are pretty happy with Scabs, though.
