Hemp Review and GIVEAWAY!!

A WINNER HAS BEEN CHOSEN!!!!!
CONGRATS DOMESTIC DIVA!!!!!

Everyone loves hemp, at least I do anyway! It can be used to make just about anything and when it is eaten it is full of omegas, protein, and fiber...oh and pretty damn delicious too!

Manitoba Harvest recently sent me an 8.4 oz bottle of organic hemp oil and 3 different shake packets (dark chocolate, vanilla, and pro fiber) in the package of sexy goodness for me they sent double of everything so I can do another GIVEAWAY!!!
First let me tell you a bit about each of these....
You know that the dark chocolate was absolutely my favorite, not because the others weren't good, but because nothing compares to chocolate with me!  This morning I made the following super simple smoothie to drink before my workout

1 c. hemp milk (you can use any other non dairy milk, but hemp is my favorite as it is a great source of protein before or after a workout)
1/2 tsp. organic cinnamon
packet of dark chocolate hemp protein
1 small ripe banana (this is one of 2 ways I can get a banana in my diet, in a smoothie or with cashew butter slathered all over it)
pinch of cayenne pepper (it will warm you from within, for these cold miserable days of winter
1 small package frozen organic strawberries (frozen gives the smoothie a nice ice cream type quality)

blend this all up and enjoy!!!!
The hemp oil has a buttery delicious flavor that I have never had in any other oil or food.  I like to use the hemp oil in my tabbouleh instead of olive oil or in conjunction with olive oil.  Really gives it a nice little buttery kick! (That tabbouleh link will take you straight to the blog I did with my tabbouleh recipe, heck yeah!)

So, what I am trying to say is....hemp is not only healthy and awesome its absolutely delicious and can be used in many recipes!
Now here comes the fun part!!!  THE GIVEAWAY.....

Enter to win a vanilla, fiber, dark chocolate powder packet and an 8.4 oz bottle of organic hemp oil....all you have to do is post a comment telling me what you favorite comfort food is!  EASY PEASEY!

**Sorry but this giveaway is just for folks in the continental USA, only because I don't know the laws about shipping hemp products and I don't want to get any of my readers in trouble, HAH**

I love Macaroni and "Cheese" with broccoli and soy bacon bits mixed in. We just got cheddar Daiya in our grocery store YESTERDAY and I can't wait to try it. (Not that the mozzarella isn't delicious!)

My favorite comfort food is a spicy black bean soup I make, sometimes with pinto beans as well and sometimes with Field Roast chipotle sausage. Just the idea of it makes me want to make some.

My favorite comfort food: When I was living with my grandparents, my grandmother made this for me on it seemed every rainy day -

Special Cinnamon Apples and Macaroni & Cheese

I have since veganized and updated the recipe by slicing the apples a little thinner and sauteing them in Earth Balance instead of butter, and using a little stevia and maybe curry if I'm feeling it. And I'm lazy so I use Road's End Organics boxed Shells and Chreese, with extra Daiya to glorify it. Super Rainy Day food to help you brave the wet!
